What could be better than landing your big Alaskan fish? Holding a fishing derby ticket that could net you thousands of dollars in prizes. Alaska is known for its world-class fishing but without one of these derby tickets you are just another fish story. So, we at Fish Alaska magazine decided to help you achieve a possible cash windfall by providing a list of fishing derbies from around the state. 	Combat Fishing Tournament May 27, 2010 - May 27, 2010 This is a one day event.
	Craig Klawock King Salmon Derby May 1, 2010 - August 15, 2010 There are two separate derbies over the summer. The first runs May 1 through June 30 and the second runs July 1 through August 15. Prizes for 1st through 3rd are awarded for each derby. All derby ticket holders are entered into the $10,000 drawing.
	Fish For a Cure Silver Salmon Derby August 1, 2009 - August 16, 2009 This derby is for breast cancer awareness. Prizes awarded for each division, Adult Men, Adult Women and Youth. Derby BBQ on August 8, 2009. Tickets are $10
	Homer Jackpot Halibut Derby May 1, 2010 - September 30, 2010 Prizes include 1st through 4th place each month, Kids and Lady Angler prizes, Tagged Fish for Cash. Tickets are $10
	Homer Winter King Salmon Derby March 20, 2010 - March 20, 2010 This event is one day only.
	Juneau Golden North Salmon Derby August 13, 2010 - August 15, 2010 1st prize worth over $16,000.00, prizes include, Tagged Fish for Cash, Tagged fish for Scholarships, and special prizes. Tickets are $40
	Juneau Spring King Salmon Derby May 1, 2010 - May 31, 2010 There are prizes for the top 30 fish and 1st place gets $7500. Tickets are $40
	Ketchikan Indian Community Silver Salmon Derby August 28, 2010 - September 12, 2010 This derby runs for three weekends. Aug 28,29; Sept 4-6; Sept 11,12. Grand Prize is $5000 in silver; 2nd prize is $2500 in silver and 3rd prize is $1250 in silver. Other prizes will be awarded weekly.
	Ketchikan King Salmon Derby May 23, 2009 - June 7, 2009 This derby is weekends only: May 23-25,30,31 and June 6, 7 2009.
	Kodiak King Salmon Sportfishing Tournament May 15, 2010 - July 31, 2010
	Mat-Su Pike Fishing Derby February 1, 2010 - March 31, 2010
	Pat Moore Memorial Game Fish Derby July 15, 2010 - July 18, 2010
	Pelican King Salmon Derby June 4, 2010 - June 6, 2010 Tickets are $30
	Petersburg Memorial Day King Salmon Derby May 28, 2010 - May 31, 2010 Prizes for 1st through 3rd with 32 hidden weight & special prizes, and 150 other prizes for a total of over $41,000 awarded in 2009!
	Seldovia 'Human Powered' Derby May 23, 2009 - May 24, 2009 Tickets are $25 per fishing pole. This derby is for row boats, kayacks, canoes, etc.
	Seward Jackpot Halibut Tournament June 1, 2010 - June 30, 2010
