The Skwentna River

Another remote river in the Mat-Su is the Skwentna River, only accessible by boat or float plane.

In these glacial waters anglers will find Dolly Varden, rainbows, grayling and silver salmon in abundance before it dumps into the Talachulitna.

Fishing with spinners and flies will likely land you the most fish in the Skwentna. When fishing the Skwentna, be prepared for wildlife experiences since bears roam the river banks and small braids in search of their next meal.

There are riverboat and guide services that service the Skwentna River, providing anglers with the best opportunities for fishing this river.
