The Yentna River

While not fished as much, the Yentna is an off-colored fast moving river that heads at Dall glacier system and converges on the Susitna River 100 miles downstream. Most anglers fish the small tributaries of the Yetna River, most notably Lake Creek.

Remote lodges offer packages for fishing the Yentna, where you will find kings from early June through early July. The silvers are in action from early August through early September. Anglers can also find Dolly Varden, Rainbow trout, Northern Pike, Whitefish and Burbot in the Yentna.

The lower portions of this river are accessible by boat at its mouth on the Susitna, while the upper reaches are accessible by boat or float plane.
