June 13 Nushagak River Adventures Lodge with these words on the current wildfires: “We stay alert with wild fires from lightning strikes. There is currently some light smoke smell in the air, but there is nothing to be concerned about here at the lodge on the Nushagak. Over the last ten days we were on our toes, but it seems to have burned down or out. In King Salmon, on the Naknek River, they have a slightly different issue because they must contend with both the fog from the bay and the smoke from the fires. In the unlikely event of anything ever occurring at the lodge, we have the appropriate gear and safety plan. All is OK. No worries here.”

June 11 Pete with NRAL is guessing ADFG will allow the commercial fishing vessels to be released for their annual sockeye catch. This year is expected to be even better than last year, which exceeded all-time record numbers. Good news for the Nushagak River fishing report.
