As per our new lodge policy, this big buck swam away last night to make babies with a big hen somewhere far away up the Togiak. We are not anti harvest, we are 100% for responsible, sustainable harvest. Nice work gentlemen! For reference Aaron is 6’6″ tall, this was a dandy buck!

Togiak River Lodge
While King salmon numbers are on the decline across the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, we are blessed to have a healthy, viable run on the Togiak. We want to put our best effort forward however, to make conservation of these beautiful fish a priority for our business.Not only do our guides implement methods that drastically reduce the mortality rate of released fish, it is also our lodge policy that big fish, and especially big females are let go. We offer to ALL of our guests that release fish over 25 pounds, and all hens, a free canvas photo of their safely released trophy. Small steps like these, along with responsible harvest in general, will hopefully help bring these fish back to historic abundance.
