Umpqua Ledges 650 Waist Pack
This thing is big and comfortable, with an over-the-shoulder strap as well as the normal waist pack belt. Our tester used the waist pack belt loosely in conjunction with the over-the-shoulder strap so he could spin it around his body when needing something. He also took it off his waist, connected the buckles, and slung it over his neck when wading deep. Well made, but not waterproof. Lots of small organizer pockets within as well as some big spaces for fly or lure boxes.
SeaLine Widemouth Duffle 40
The wide mouth on this waterproof duffel is handy for loading that large pile of gear common to most fishermen. It’s nearly bullet-proof, built from rugged vinyl and made to keep things dry. We’ve got Sea Line dry bags that have been abused for over a decade and continue to do their job well.
Sea to Summit Carve DryPack
We loved this 24-liter dry pack, which proved to be both rugged and ergonomic, allowing us to take it on any excursion.
Filson Wheeled Carry-On Bag
Coming with Filson’s legendary quality and good looks, an added dimension to this carry-on was its durability. It’s built like a tank.
Mossy Oak Toumey 2 Back Pack Infinity
Capable of handling large loads while still being carried comfortably, we used this pack more than expected in 2013 and it came up trumps every time.
Umpqua Deadline 3500 Wet / Dry Duffel
A great combination pack and wader bag perfect for day trips into lakes or rivers, or as a carry-on bag for fly-out adventures. One of the best features of this product is customizable wet and dry storage, which can store boots, waders, gear and extra clothing easily in the large, 3500 cubic-inch capacity. The waterproof tarpaulin face allows you to throw this bag on wet ground without worrying about mucking up your gear. Testers liked the compartment configuration and the main zipper on the bottom of the bag.
Aquapac 35L Wet & Dry Backpack
Whether you’re commuting in the rain or floating the Kenai canyon in high water, this is a fully-featured waterproof backpack that will protect your gear from the elements.

MSRP: $29 to $59
This series of bags comes in a range of sizes – 5-, 10-, 15-, 25-, 35- and 45 liters – and each is made from heavy-duty nylon. Taped seams and a roll-down enclosure ensure that the contents of the bag will remain dry even in the worst conditions.
Aquapac SLR Camera Case
Keep your camera and lens completely dry this next season, like we did all year this year, when using the SLR Camera Case from Aquapac. It’s an essential piece of equipment for serious fishing photographers.
Mossy Oak Lateleaf Duffle Large Infinity
This versatile bag has heavy-duty Oxford 600D fabric with polyurethane coating for a waterproof and dirt-prevention barrier; we hauled it into the bush on several occasions in the past year and found it to hold plenty of gear, depending on the size selected, and to stand up to the wear-and-tear of wilderness travel.
