People often think pink salmon—AKA Humpies—are the Rodney Dangerfield of salmonids. But there is another salmonid that is perhaps even more worthy of that title: whitefish. They are plentiful in some rivers and many lakes in Alaska, and the lake residents often grow large enough to seriously tax a 5-weight fly rod. They taste good, too.
