The Yakutat Lodge is a unique Alaskan destination for anglers, offering incredible fishing experiences and a welcoming atmosphere.

The lodge’s seasonal offerings include peak steelhead fishing on the Situk River in April, sockeye salmon in late June and July, silver salmon from August to October, and thrilling king salmon and halibut fishing on Yakutat Bay. With a mix of fly and conventional fishing, visitors can target steelhead, sockeye, coho, king salmon, and halibut. Guides are on hand to support anglers of all levels, particularly with the elusive sockeye. The beautiful thing about Yakutat Lodge is that trips are tailored to the desires of the visitors. Fishing is always included in your package, so you can divvy up the number of days between the river and the salt. Or you can choose to tour and see some of the majestic Gulf Coast on trips like the flight-seeing tours of the Hubbard Glacier.

Yakutat Lodge accommodates guests in clean, cozy rooms and cabins. The main lodge offers easy access to amenities, including a restaurant and lounge, with rooms outfitted with private baths, and freezers for fish storage. Cabins along the bay provide waterfront views and are equipped with private porches, kitchen spaces, and fire pits—ideal for relaxing after a long day.

The Big House, or the main Yakutat Lodge, was founded in the 1960s, and today with professional captains, knowledgeable guides, and comprehensive fishing packages, the lodge has built a reputation as one of the top fishing destinations in Alaska. As a rustic, full-service lodge close to the Situk River and adjacent to Alaska Airlines, it’s a convenient, welcoming base for a truly memorable Alaskan adventure.
