Olympic Peninsula Skagit Tactics (OPST)
Rainforest Waterproof Waist Pack

OPST heard many calls for the return of the roll-top waist pack, and they answered them. This sturdy waist/sling pack has a roll-top, avoiding the inevitable leakage that occurs with zippers. When properly closed, it could double as a floatation device if it was larger. The side straps are adjustable so you can choose how tightly the bag is closed and make sure water stays out. The waist is fully adjustable and features a UTX buckle for added durability. A padded insert keeps your tools and boxes organized and also protects the bag from the inside. The front zippered pocket has drain holes to keep your tools and tippet from soaking for long periods. The pack can be worn with or without the removable sling, making it a perfect crossover hip pack/sling pack. This is the pack to use whether swinging for rainbows on the Kenai, silvers on the Kanektok or steelhead on the Situk.

Plano 3600 Size Waterproof Stowaway Utility Box

We are big fans of Plano products, especially the Stowaway Utility box which is available in multiple sizes to fit all of the terminal tackle needs for an angler in Alaska. Each comes equipped with Plano’s Dri-Loc O-Ring Seal and has three tight-sealing cam-action latches, which allows an angler to firmly close the box and to keep the contents dry helping prevent rust growth. The 3600 series is 10.75 inches wide, 7.25 inches deep and 1.75 inches tall, and can be configured from 5- to 20 compartments. An avid bead fisherman can carry a range of 6-, 8-, 10- and 12-mm beads as well as a variety of hooks, weights, indicators and toothpicks, and be ready for battle with trout, char and grayling. Or a coho fisherman could fill it with a wide variety of spinners, spoons, hooks and swivels and have the variety in lures to turn the bite back on after it eventually drops off.

Simms’ intrepid Dry Creek Boat Bag offers bone-dry storage solutions at a superstar level. Featuring fail safe radio-frequency welds and enveloped in TPU-coated material, interior dividers deliver ample options for reels, fly boxes, camera equipment, additional clothing layers, and more. The magnetized catch-and-release buckle system (one of our favorite features of this bag) spins automatically into a lock position, without the use of the zipper. Over the top, a bomber compression-molded lid sheaths the bag’s main body, repelling water from all angles. And strategically-placed Hypalon strap attachment points allow you the option of attaching a shoulder strap for ease of carry.

Versatile and efficient, this rectangular-shaped, waterproof dry sack helped organize and protect our clothing and gear all season long, while we fished, floated and hunted through a variety of conditions. Fully welded seam construction made sure the sack held up, too.
